Pendleton, OR – Oregon’s searing summer heat surges back Tuesday, July 29th, with Pendleton climbing to a sweltering 98°F by mid-afternoon, prompting a summer weather alert for residents and travelers along U.S. Route 395.

According to the National Weather Service, calm conditions early Tuesday will give way to north winds up to 8 mph as temperatures soar. With no cloud cover to provide relief, residents are urged to limit outdoor activity between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. The heat will linger overnight, with lows only dipping into the low 60s, offering little cooling before Wednesday’s continued heat.
