Oregon rain is tapping against windows across Portland this morning, and wet pavement already glistens along I-5 and Highway 26.

Temperatures sit in the mid-40s with steady rainfall continuing through the morning commute. Highs reach near 49 degrees today as periods of rain redevelop and intensify at times. Rain remains widespread into tonight, with lows dipping to around 41 degrees.

Tuesday stays unsettled. Expect more rain and a high near 50 degrees. Another round of steady showers arrives Tuesday night, with lows sliding to 37. Roads remain slick, especially during heavier bursts. Allow extra braking distance and watch for standing water in low spots.

By Wednesday, showers become more scattered, mainly before late afternoon. Partial clearing follows, and highs reach near 51 degrees. Skies clear further Wednesday night, and temperatures drop to around 36 degrees. If pavement stays wet, isolated slick patches could form by early Thursday. This is the time of year when brief flash freezing can occur on untreated surfaces.

Thursday brings a mix of clouds and spotty rain with highs near 53 degrees. Friday trends drier with partial sunshine and highs near 52. Snow levels lower in the Cascades late week, but valley precipitation remains rain.

Looking ahead, the 6–10 day outlook signals gradual warming into early next week. Subtle spring warmth may begin to build across northwest Oregon.
