Oregon’s Willamette Valley is soaked this morning, with steady rain falling across Eugene and temperatures hovering in the mid-40s. Water beads on windshields along I-5, and puddles are forming on Beltline Highway as the next round of February weather settles in.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, rain continues through today with highs near 45 degrees and precipitation chances around 80 to 90 percent. Showers ease briefly late Sunday, but another surge of moisture arrives Sunday night into President’s Day Monday. Snow levels drop to around 2,400 feet Sunday, then fall closer to 1,000 feet by Monday night.

That shift matters. While most valley neighborhoods see mainly rain, a rain-to-snow mix becomes possible late Monday night into early Tuesday as lows dip to around 32 degrees. Little to no accumulation is expected in central Eugene, but slushy spots could develop on elevated roads and in the south hills.

Plan extra time if traveling Monday evening. Watch bridges and overpasses along I-5 and OR-126, where colder surfaces can turn slick first. This is prime season for brief refreezing when temperatures hover near freezing.

Showers linger into Tuesday with highs in the mid-40s. Additional rain and mountain snow continue midweek as snow levels fluctuate between 1,000 and 1,800 feet.

Looking ahead, broader signals point to milder air building later next week. President’s Day Week may end with slightly warmer afternoons, hinting at early spring vibes across western Oregon.
