Oregon’s Rogue Valley is waking up under low clouds and a chilly 39-degree start in Medford. Patchy fog lingers in spots, and damp pavement reflects headlights along I-5 and Highway 62. In colder pockets west of town, temperatures dipped into the mid-30s, raising concern for slick areas before mid-morning.
The National Weather Service reports patchy fog through about 10 a.m., followed by gradual clearing and a high near 56 degrees. Light winds keep conditions calm, but shaded roads and bridges may stay cool longer. Drivers should watch for brief visibility drops in low-lying areas near the Rogue River.
Tonight turns partly cloudy with lows near 34. That sets up another round of patchy frost by early morning. Thursday brings more sunshine and a high near 55. Friday stays mostly dry with highs in the lower 50s, though clouds increase late.
Rain chances rise Friday night and into Saturday. Highs cool to around 50 Saturday with rain likely by late afternoon. By Saturday night, snow levels fall to near 4,200 feet, then drop further Sunday. A mix of rain and snow becomes possible Sunday night as snow levels lower toward 3,300 feet. Mountain passes could turn slick.
Looking into early next week, additional rain and snow chances continue with snow levels dipping near 3,000 feet at times. Farther out in the 6–10 day outlook, broader warming trends suggest above-average temperatures building later next week across much of the country.
