Pendleton, Oregon – A dry and sunny stretch across eastern Oregon will give way to midweek rain and a shot of summer heat by the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, Pendleton will enjoy mostly sunny skies and a high of 64°F on Tuesday, May 20, with light southwest winds gusting up to 25 mph. Conditions remain calm Tuesday night, though winds will persist with gusts near 24 mph and lows dipping to 39°F.
By Wednesday, May 21, temperatures will climb to 69°F under sunny skies. However, a 30% chance of showers moves in late Wednesday night, particularly after 11 p.m., with clouds increasing and lows around 47°F. Rain will likely affect early Thursday drivers, with a 40% chance of showers before 11 a.m. followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 68°F.
Travelers on I-84 should plan for possible slick conditions early Thursday morning. Light rain combined with morning winds could reduce visibility and cause brief delays.
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday bring a return to sunny and warm conditions. Friday sees a slight chance of early showers, but highs jump to 73°F. Saturday will feel like summer, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 81°F—the warmest day of the week.
Expect mostly clear skies Saturday night and into Sunday, with another chance of showers returning by Memorial Day.
