Pendleton, OR – A series of rain showers and potential thunderstorms are expected to affect Pendleton and surrounding areas through Wednesday afternoon, bringing gusty winds and cooler temperatures to eastern Oregon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pendleton, a 70% chance of precipitation begins tonight and continues intermittently through Wednesday, with possible thunderstorms on Monday. Rainfall amounts are expected to remain under a tenth of an inch daily, although isolated thunderstorms could bring slightly higher totals.

Winds will increase during the rainy periods, with gusts reaching up to 21 mph tonight. Monday morning and Tuesday also bring rain risks, particularly after 11 a.m., with skies remaining mostly cloudy and daytime highs ranging from the mid-50s to low 60s. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s to mid-30s, contributing to slippery morning conditions.

Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts, especially those traveling early in the day. Use caution on wet roads, and allow extra time for commutes during rain periods. While no flooding is anticipated, brief downpours may reduce visibility and traction.

The unsettled pattern is expected to clear by Thursday, followed by sunnier conditions and temperatures rebounding into the 60s by Friday.
