Medford, OR – Rain and patchy fog are set to create challenging conditions across Southern Oregon, especially in the Medford area, through Wednesday. Commuters on I-5 should expect reduced visibility due to fog Tuesday night and early Wednesday, with heavy rain likely throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin early Wednesday morning, intensifying by midday, with a 90% chance of precipitation. Southeast winds from 7 to 10 mph will add to the damp conditions, making travel slower on key routes like I-5 and local roads. Patchy fog may persist through late morning, reducing visibility to under a mile in some areas.
Wednesday night will see a 40% chance of continued rain, with snow levels dropping to 3,500 feet after midnight, affecting higher elevations nearby. Temperatures will stay mild, with highs near 49°F on Wednesday before cooling to 35°F overnight.
By Thursday, patchy morning fog will give way to partly sunny skies and a high of 51°F, offering temporary relief. However, rain returns Saturday, though a warming trend is expected by the weekend, with highs near 60°F on Saturday and 58°F on Sunday. Residents are advised to drive cautiously and stay updated on weather alerts through the week.
