Portland, Oregon – Showers will soak Portland through Saturday, with a chance of thunderstorms early Saturday morning and brief dry skies expected Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Portland, rain is likely by 5 p.m. Thursday and will continue into the weekend. A 60% chance of showers Friday night rises to 80% by Saturday morning, with possible thunderstorms and rainfall totals between a tenth and half an inch. Wind gusts may reach 10 mph, with calm conditions returning by Sunday.
Roads could become slick in the metro area, especially during Friday’s evening commute and early Saturday. Neighborhoods from Beaverton to Gresham should prepare for intermittent downpours, while higher rainfall rates could hit the West Hills. The Willamette Valley may also see isolated thunderstorm cells early Saturday.
Residents are advised to avoid flooded intersections, keep phones charged, and delay travel during peak rain hours. This is Portland’s wettest stretch since early April.
The chance of showers tapers off by Sunday, with dry, partly cloudy conditions expected Sunday night into early next week. A warming trend continues through Tuesday, with highs near 70° by Wednesday.
