Oregon starts the day under steady gray skies, with light rain leaving Eugene streets damp and reflective as drivers move along I-5 and Highway 126. That moisture sets the stage for changing conditions within hours.

According to the National Weather Service, rain tapers off this morning, followed by gradual clearing and a high near 55°F. Winds stay light, but temperatures drop quickly later, setting up widespread frost as lows fall to around 32°F by early Sunday.

Eugene, Springfield, and Junction City will see improving skies by midday, but don’t let the sunshine fool you. Residual moisture on roads may refreeze in colder spots by early morning Sunday. Watch for slick bridges and shaded rural roads. Plan extra time if traveling early.

Sunday brings a brief stretch of calmer spring weather, with highs near 56°F and more sunshine. Still, another round of patchy frost could develop early before temperatures rebound.

By Monday morning, patchy fog may form between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., briefly lowering visibility for commuters. Conditions stay mostly cloudy with highs near 59°F.

Meteorologists are now tracking a stronger system arriving Tuesday. Rain redevelops during the day, pushing highs near 60°F and creating widespread wet ճանապարհs and slower travel across Lane County.

Looking ahead, rain chances continue into midweek before a gradual warm-up later next week. Conditions remain active, especially during early morning hours.

Heading out early or planning for Tuesday’s rain? Are you seeing fog or slick spots where you are?
