Drivers traveling along Interstate 84, Highway 11, and Highway 395 may encounter occasional wet pavement early today where passing showers develop. Conditions improve quickly later in the afternoon as skies brighten and roads dry.
Communities across Hermiston, Milton-Freewater, and Umatilla will experience the same warming trend. Calm winds and increasing sunshine will allow the region to warm steadily through midweek.
Meteorologists say a broader warming pattern is spreading across much of the western United States this week. A ridge of high pressure strengthening over the West is helping boost temperatures well above typical mid-March levels.
Nighttime conditions remain cool and quiet. Lows will drop into the mid-40s to near 50°F, offering comfortable spring evenings across eastern Oregon.
The mild pattern holds through Thursday as temperatures climb into the mid-70s, marking one of the warmest stretches so far this spring across the Pendleton area.
