Medford, OR – Spring rains return to southern Oregon Monday, bringing cooler temperatures and slick travel conditions along I-5 through Medford.

According to the National Weather Service, Medford will see a 40 percent chance of showers starting Monday morning, with winds shifting from calm to southwest at 5 to 7 mph. Monday’s high will reach 62°F, but by Monday night, temperatures will dip to 40°F with skies turning mostly cloudy.

Motorists should be alert for wet pavement, especially on I-5 and local roads during the Monday morning and evening commutes. No flooding is expected, but isolated slick spots may develop as showers intensify overnight.

Rain chances continue into Tuesday with another 30 percent likelihood, particularly after 11 a.m. Snow levels will hover near 5,500 feet, limiting impacts to higher elevations. Tuesday’s high will be cooler at 61°F, with another chilly night low of 41°F expected.

By midweek, conditions gradually improve:

  • Wednesday: Partly sunny with a high near 69°F.
  • Thursday: Chance of showers returns after 11 a.m.; high near 70°F.
  • Friday: Spring sunshine expected with highs in the low 60s.

Medford residents should prepare for wet weather through Tuesday night. Carry umbrellas, drive cautiously, and monitor local forecasts for any updates. For those traveling across the Rogue Valley or toward higher elevations, expect spring variability and pack accordingly.
