Oregon – Mist hangs over the Rogue Valley this morning, and colder air is lining up behind incoming rain. Roads that look simply wet today could turn slushy by Monday night as temperatures fall into the 20s.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, rain develops this afternoon with a high near 52 degrees. Showers become more widespread tonight, with precipitation chances near 80 percent and lows around 35. By Monday, highs only reach 45 degrees, and rain is expected to mix with snow after 4 p.m. as snow levels fall from around 4,000 feet toward 2,900 feet.

Conditions turn more wintry Monday night. Snow levels drop to near 1,500 feet after midnight, with lows plunging to 28 degrees. While less than a half inch of accumulation is expected in the valley, surrounding higher terrain could pick up light snow. Slushy patches may develop on bridges and overpasses along I-5 and Highway 62.

Tuesday stays cold with a high near 40. Snow is possible early, then a rain–snow mix continues through the day. By Tuesday night, lows dip to 23 degrees. That sets the stage for flash freezing if wet pavement refreezes after sunset.

Showers linger into Wednesday and Thursday, with highs near 40 and periodic snow chances. By Friday, temperatures rebound slightly into the lower 40s.

Looking ahead to President’s Day week, the pattern gradually moderates. Long-range trends hint at milder air building late next week, signaling early spring vibes across southern Oregon after this February chill.
