Medford, Oregon – Warm spring days are returning to southern Oregon, but Medford residents should prepare for a shift by Saturday afternoon. A weak disturbance moving in from the Pacific will bring a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms starting late Saturday morning, impacting outdoor plans and travel along I-5.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday and Friday will stay dry and increasingly warm, with highs reaching 71°F and 75°F respectively. Winds will remain light out of the north, making for ideal spring conditions. By Saturday, a 30% chance of rain and thunderstorms develops after 11 a.m., with temperatures dipping slightly to a high of 64°F.

Localized rainfall could create slick road conditions near Central Point and along I-5 during peak weekend traffic hours. Drivers should remain alert and reduce speeds during any sudden downpours. The chance of storms tapers off by 11 p.m. Saturday, leading into a calm and partly cloudy night with lows in the mid-40s.

Sunday through Tuesday looks clear and mild, with sunny skies and highs climbing steadily from the low 60s to mid-70s. Monday will be a standout spring day with sunny skies and a high near 73°F.

No additional alerts are in place beyond Saturday’s rain chances, but the National Weather Service advises checking for updates Friday evening. The next major pattern shift isn’t expected until mid-next week.
