Medford, OR – Thanksgiving Week is expected to bring mostly minor weather impacts across Southern Oregon, with forecasters highlighting fog, light rain, and generally quiet conditions through much of the period. According to the National Weather Service in Medford, the most active weather will come Sunday into Monday and again on Thanksgiving Day, though neither system is expected to bring significant travel hazards.

According to the National Weather Service, areas of valley fog will linger into Sunday morning before a weak front brings light rain to locations mainly along and west of the Cascades. Snow levels will remain high, mostly around 5,000–6,000 feet, with only minor accumulations under 2 inches expected above 5,500 feet.

Dry conditions are forecast from late Monday through Wednesday, though recurring nighttime and morning valley fog is likely. A warm front north of the region may bring occasional light rain north of Roseburg and North Bend Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

A second weak front is projected to move inland on Thanksgiving Day, bringing light rain confined to areas west of the Cascades. Snow levels will be high—near 7,000 feet—keeping major passes free of winter weather issues.

Showers taper off Friday morning for northern zones, with dry weather expected Friday afternoon through Saturday. Looking ahead to next Sunday, forecast models remain split: approximately 65% suggest dry weather with valley fog, while 35% indicate precipitation, with snow levels potentially dropping to 3,000–3,500 feet if the wetter scenario develops.

Residents planning holiday travel should expect mostly mild conditions with occasional wet roads but minimal disruption.
