Medford, OR – The National Weather Service in Medford warns that areas of frost are likely early Monday morning, October 20, across parts of western and central Siskiyou County and nearby valleys.
According to the National Weather Service, frost is expected in the Shasta and Scott valleys, as well as portions of the lower Klamath River Valley. Localized frost may also develop in the Rogue, Applegate, and Illinois valleys of southwest Oregon as cold air settles overnight under clear skies.
Temperatures are forecast to drop to near or just below freezing in low-lying areas, which could damage crops, sensitive plants, and outdoor vegetation. The NWS advises residents to cover plants, bring pets indoors, and take precautions for livestock exposed to the cold.
The frost threat should ease by mid-morning Monday as temperatures gradually rise under sunny skies.
