Pendleton, Oregon – Triple-digit heat may not hit Pendleton just yet, but summer sun will dominate Eastern Oregon skies starting Friday, July 25, with highs reaching 90°F and little relief over the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Pendleton will see steady heat Friday through at least Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies and highs peaking at 94°F on Tuesday and 96°F by Wednesday. Winds could gust up to 25 mph on Friday, adding to fire danger and raising concerns for outdoor workers and drivers along I-84.

Friday marks the return of near-peak summer heat, following a brief midweek cooldown. Southwest winds between 7–15 mph may increase wildfire risk and affect visibility on rural roads. Locals are urged to hydrate, limit midday outdoor activities, and check on pets and vulnerable neighbors.

Saturday and Sunday continue the trend: highs of 87°F and 89°F, respectively, with clear skies offering no relief from the sun. Overnight lows stay mild, around 57–58°F.

The heat intensifies early next week. Monday’s high jumps to 93°F, climbing further on Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds remain light but could gust Monday night. Expect elevated UV levels throughout the period, so sunscreen and shade are essential for anyone spending extended time outside.
