Pendleton, OR – A series of Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across portions of Oregon and Washington through early Monday morning, with moderate to heavy mountain snow expected, according to the National Weather Service in Pendleton.
In Oregon, the Northern Blue Mountains and East Slopes of the Cascades are forecast to receive 4 to 8 inches of snow above 4,500 feet, including areas near Meacham, Tollgate, La Pine, Sisters, Camp Sherman, and Sunriver. In Washington, the Upper Slopes of the Eastern Cascades—including Easton and Roslyn—could see an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow above 4,000 feet before the advisory expires 11 p.m. Sunday.
Forecasters say travel may become difficult, particularly along I-90 and high-elevation routes, due to snow accumulation and reduced visibility. Wind gusts up to 35 mph could also worsen driving conditions.
Motorists are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and check updated road conditions via tripcheck.com (Oregon) or wsdot.wa.gov/travel (Washington) before heading into mountain areas.
Snow is expected to taper off by early Monday morning, with cold overnight temperatures maintaining slick conditions into the start of the week.
