Lane County, OR – A Lowell man accused of menacing several people with a handgun early Saturday was arrested hours later in Washington state after a multi-agency search, authorities confirmed.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 12:30 a.m. Saturday to a report of a man with a gun in the 400 block of Carol Street in Lowell. The suspect, identified as Marqucis Andrew Lee White, 33, allegedly threatened several people before fleeing in a vehicle.
Deputies launched an extensive search using an armored vehicle, drone, and K9 unit, later finding White’s car crashed nearby with a firearm inside. Residents in the area were advised to shelter indoors out of caution.
Later that morning, while deputies continued the search, a nearby duck hunter discharged a shotgun—unrelated to the incident—prompting additional precautionary responses. Detectives later determined the suspect had left the area, and an all-clear alert was issued.
Washington State Police located White west of Spokane, where he was arrested after a short pursuit. He currently faces charges in Washington tied to that pursuit, but if extradited to Oregon, he will face multiple felony counts, including:
- Robbery in the First Degree
- Strangulation
- Assault in the Fourth Degree (Felony)
- Menacing
- Interfering with Making a Report
- Coercion
Authorities thanked Washington State Police for assisting with the capture.
