Portland, OR – A Frost Advisory has been issued for parts of Oregon and Washington, warning of cold temperatures that could damage sensitive outdoor plants. The advisory is in effect from midnight Wednesday night until 8 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service warns that temperatures will drop as low as 35°F in some areas, and even as low as 32°F in certain spots, particularly in the Willamette Valley, Oregon Coast Range, and South Washington Cascade Foothills. These cold conditions are expected to result in frost formation, which could harm outdoor vegetation.

Residents are advised to take precautions by covering sensitive plants with lightweight fabrics or moving potted plants indoors. The advisory also covers parts of the Hood River Valley and Cowlitz County Lowlands, where frost is likely to develop in the early morning hours.
