White City, OR – A major crash in Jackson County left two people injured Monday morning after a logging truck overturned and spilled its load, crushing three vehicles near White City.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:15 a.m. on September 15 near Avenue G and Highway 62. Deputies said a caller reported the truck’s trailer swaying minutes before it overturned, dumping heavy logs across the roadway.
Three vehicles were struck by the falling timber — a Ford F-150 pickup, a Hyundai Elantra, and a Nissan cargo van. The F-150 driver sustained life-threatening injuries, while the Elantra driver was also hurt. Both were transported to medical facilities. The Nissan van driver was not seriously injured, authorities said.
Emergency crews, including the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team, Medford Police Department, Ashland Police Department, Oregon State Police, and the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, are investigating. The log truck’s operator and the trucking company are cooperating with authorities.
Highway 62 and nearby roads experienced significant delays during cleanup and investigation. Officials have not yet released further details on the truck driver’s condition or possible causes of the crash.
