Veneta, OR – An ATV operator from Eugene died Friday afternoon after a crash involving a car and an ATV on Crow Road, southeast of Veneta, Oregon.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, Oregon State Troopers, and fire personnel responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m. after reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the 26300 block of Crow Road. Authorities said the initial investigation revealed a 2010 Subaru Impreza allegedly struck an ATV as it crossed Crow Road.

The ATV operator, identified as Scott Alan Kayser, 63, of Eugene, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Subaru reportedly stayed at the location and cooperated with the investigation, officials said. Crow Road was closed for approximately three hours while the Lane County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Team examined the incident.

Officials extended their gratitude to Oregon State Police, Lane Fire Authority, and Lane County TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) for their assistance at the scene.
