Coos Bay, OR – A 19-year-old man was arrested late Sunday night in Coos Bay after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance that led to felony charges, authorities said.
According to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Boswell and Deputy Converse were dispatched around 10:47 p.m. on October 20 to a residence on Wayfarer Lane following reports of a domestic dispute. Deputies say their investigation revealed that 19-year-old Zachariah Saye allegedly pushed the female victim to the ground and impeded her ability to breathe in the presence of their infant child.
Saye was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Coos County Jail. He faces charges of Felony Domestic Strangulation and Domestic Harassment. As of Tuesday morning, he remains held pending arraignment.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, noting that “police action is not indicative of guilt.”
