The warmth builds into the weekend, with a high of 85°F on Saturday and a sharp jump to 93°F by Sunday. Travelers on I-84 should prepare for dry, hot road conditions and possible vehicle overheating.

Friday kicks off a four-day stretch of unbroken sunshine across Umatilla County. West winds of 14 mph will taper by Friday night, offering some evening relief. Outdoor activities should be timed for early morning or evening hours as the heat intensifies. Locals are encouraged to check cooling centers and avoid strenuous work during peak afternoon hours. Dry air and light overnight winds may also increase the risk of grass fires.
