Oregon – A wet and windy start to the week is in store for Portland, with heavy rain and gusty winds through Tuesday. Travelers and outdoor event-goers should prepare for slick roads, low visibility, and possible minor flooding.

According to the National Weather Service, Portland will experience steady rainfall throughout Sunday, with temperatures peaking near 50°F. Winds from the southwest will reach up to 25 mph, making outdoor conditions blustery. Sunday night will bring continued showers and cooler temperatures, dropping into the upper 30s.

On Monday, St. Patrick’s Day festivities could be dampened by persistent rain and gusty winds. Snow levels will drop to 1,900 feet in the morning before rising to 2,600 feet in the afternoon. Daytime highs will reach the low 50s, but wind chills will make it feel colder.

Monday night could see thunderstorms after 11 p.m., with continued rain and a low near 36°F. By Tuesday, rain showers will continue, and snow levels will climb slightly. Some clearing is expected in the afternoon, but another round of rain is possible by Wednesday.

Looking ahead, the rain remains in the forecast through Friday, with highs in the low 50s. Travelers along I-5 should expect wet roads and occasional strong gusts. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and allow extra time for commutes.
