According to the Oregon State Police, troopers responded around 12:21 a.m. to reports of a road rage incident on I-5 southbound between mileposts 265 and 263. The altercation involved a 2010 black Nissan Maxima and a lighter-colored SUV resembling a 2008–2011 Dodge Journey. Authorities said both vehicles were seen weaving through traffic in the far left and middle lanes.

During the incident, police said the front passenger in the Dodge Journey allegedly fired a weapon at the Nissan Maxima, striking the rear driver-side quarter panel multiple times. The alleged shooter was reportedly wearing a ski mask. No injuries were reported.

The Dodge Journey was last seen exiting I-5 south at milepost 263, and its direction of travel remains unknown.

Law enforcement officials stated there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
