Eugene, Oregon – Rain and possible thunderstorms could drench Eugene by late Friday, with wet conditions lingering into the weekend across much of western Oregon.
According to the National Weather Service in Portland, a 90% chance of rain will arrive in the Willamette Valley by Saturday morning, with thunderstorms also possible after 11 a.m. Rainfall amounts could range from a quarter to a half inch, with the heaviest downpours expected in Lane County and surrounding areas. Light showers may begin as early as Friday night.
Cities including Eugene, Springfield, and Junction City may see slick roads during peak travel times Saturday. Winds will remain mild, but drivers should be alert for reduced visibility and hydroplaning on major corridors like I-5 and Highway 99.
Saturday night could bring isolated thunderstorms before 11 p.m., followed by cooler, mostly cloudy conditions into Sunday. Temperatures will hover in the low to mid 60s during the day, dipping into the 40s at night. Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items, check windshield wipers, and monitor local alerts.
Rain chances taper slightly by Sunday, but another round of light showers is possible Monday. Updates will follow as conditions evolve.
