Oregon Manhunt Ends: Suspect Arrested in White City Domestic Violence Killing

White City, OR – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) detectives are investigating a domestic violence homicide that occurred Saturday night, October 25, in White City. The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Jason Samuel Rowan, was taken into custody early Sunday morning after a nearly five-hour manhunt.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 9:37 p.m. to reports of a stabbing at a mobile home park on the 3600 block of Avenue G. First responders from JCSO and Mercy Flights attempted life-saving measures, but the victim, identified as 72-year-old Edward Dean Rowan of White City, was pronounced dead at 10:12 p.m.

Investigators say the suspect initially fled the scene but was later found walking on Avenue C near 28th Street. Deputies arrested him at approximately 2:26 a.m. without further incident.

Multiple agencies assisted in the search, including Oregon State Police, Medford Police Department, Central Point Police Department, and Eagle Point Police Department. Drone and K9 units were also deployed to help locate the suspect.

Rowan is charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Jackson County Jail. The Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) continues to investigate with assistance from the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.
