Lane County, OR – Detectives with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office arrested William Harold Berry III, a registered sex offender, following a months-long child exploitation investigation. Deputies served a search warrant early Tuesday morning at Berry’s residence on McKenzie Highway, uncovering multiple electronic storage devices, firearms, and body armor.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation involved the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. During the search, detectives seized evidence leading to Berry’s immediate arrest. He now faces 10 counts each of first- and second-degree Encouraging Child Sex Abuse.
The Sheriff’s Office worked closely with Homeland Security Investigations, Eugene Police Department ICAC detectives, and Oregon Department of Justice. Berry remains in custody at the Lane County Jail.
Authorities emphasize their continued commitment to combating child exploitation. The investigation remains active, and officials report no further details at this time.
