Boise, ID – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of Idaho and Oregon, with heavy snowfall and gusty winds creating hazardous travel conditions. The advisory lasts until 5 p.m. MST Saturday for Idaho’s West Central Mountains, Boise Mountains, and Camas Prairie.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Boise, snowfall could reach up to 7 inches in lower elevations and as much as 12 inches in higher mountain areas. Wind gusts may reach 40 mph, reducing visibility and making travel dangerous.

Meanwhile, a separate winter weather advisory for Upper Weiser River, Baker County, and Oregon’s Lower Treasure Valley remains in effect until 5 p.m. MST (4 p.m. PST) Friday. Up to 2 inches of additional snow is expected, with slick roads impacting evening commutes.

Drivers are urged to slow down, use caution, and check 511 for road conditions. Bridges and overpasses may become especially icy. Travelers should be prepared for difficult to impossible road conditions, particularly in mountain passes.
