Portland, OR – An ice storm warning has been issued for parts of Oregon, including the Willamette Valley and the Central Oregon Coast Range, from 10 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Friday. The storm is expected to bring up to an inch of snow and as much as 0.3 inches of ice, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, roads, bridges, and overpasses are likely to become slick, making travel dangerous. Areas affected include Eugene, Salem, Corvallis, Albany, Springfield, and surrounding communities. The combination of snow and ice could lead to power outages and tree damage.

Residents are advised to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. Walking surfaces will also be treacherous, increasing the risk of falls. If driving is unavoidable, motorists should carry emergency supplies, drive slowly, and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.

This storm follows a trend of severe winter weather across the Pacific Northwest. Officials urge residents to stay updated on forecasts and take necessary precautions.
