Portland, OR – A flood warning has been issued for the Luckiamute River near Suver in Polk County, with minor flooding expected through the evening. The National Weather Service in Portland reports that low-lying areas, roads, and agricultural land along the river could experience rising water levels.
According to the NWS Portland, the river is expected to crest this afternoon (Feb. 24, 2025), leading to minor flooding in areas near Sarah Helmick State Park, Highway 99, and Parker Road. Officials warn that flooded roads and farmland could create hazardous travel conditions, especially after dark.
Residents in the affected areas are urged to exercise caution, particularly at night, when flood dangers may be harder to recognize. The National Weather Service advises avoiding flooded roadways and staying informed through official sources.
