Eugene, OR – A series of storms is set to drench Oregon this week, with heavy rainfall expected to bring potential flooding across rivers and low-lying areas starting Wednesday. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland warns that rain totals could reach up to 8 inches in the Coast Range and Cascades, with inland valleys, including Eugene, likely receiving 2.5 to 4 inches by Friday morning.

According to the NWS, the heaviest rain will arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday, continuing into Friday. Rivers along the I-5 corridor, including smaller creeks and streams, may rise quickly, causing localized flooding in poor drainage areas. Drivers are urged to remain cautious on slick roadways and watch for standing water during their commutes.
