Inside the vehicle, deputies allegedly discovered a pink pepper spray pistol and a stolen handgun.
While deputies investigated, a second vehicle reportedly associated with Sauers arrived at the scene. The sheriff’s office stated that the driver, Kirby Edward Sauers, 63, also of Eugene, appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested. Deputies allege the stolen handgun was linked to the passenger of the second vehicle, identified as Loren Joseph Imponen, 49, of Eugene.
After further investigation, authorities arrested Karmen Sauers for alleged menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and DUII. She was lodged at the Lane County Jail. Kirby Sauers was also arrested for DUII and cited in lieu of custody, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. Imponen was allegedly arrested for theft in the first degree and lodged at the Lane County Jail.
