The Dalles, OR – A 52-year-old man was arrested Friday in The Dalles after law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant that allegedly uncovered firearms, ammunition, body armor and drugs inside his residence.

According to the Mid-Columbia Interagency Narcotics Task Force (MINT Team), officers executed the warrant September 5 with support from the Northern Oregon Regional Tactical Team (NORTAC). Authorities reported finding commercial quantities of what appeared to be marijuana and methamphetamine. Samples of the suspected substances were submitted to the Oregon State Police Crime Lab for testing.

The suspect, identified as Anthony Hithe, was taken into custody and lodged at the Northern Oregon Correctional Facility. He faces multiple charges including felon in possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine and marijuana in substantial quantities, unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, and possession of body armor. Additional counts include alleged endangerment of the welfare of a minor and illegal transfer of a firearm.

The MINT Team, which is made up of the Wasco, Hood River, Sherman, and Gilliam County sheriff’s departments along with The Dalles and Hood River police, said the case highlights interagency cooperation. Sheriff Lane Magill of Wasco County stated, “This case demonstrates our shared commitment to the safety of the Columbia Gorge region and is evidence of our ability and willingness to work together for the benefit of all of our citizens.”

Dalles Police Chief Tom Worthy added that while he was encouraged by the outcome, more work remains. “I’m optimistic that you will see many more cases such as this soon,” he said.

Authorities emphasized that Hithe remains innocent until proven guilty in court. His bail eligibility is being determined. Officials noted additional charges may be filed as evidence continues to be processed.
