Pendleton, OR – Snowfall is ongoing across the Oregon Blue Mountains, with visibility dropping to as low as one-quarter mile in some areas this evening, according to the National Weather Service in Pendleton.

Forecasters report light to moderate snow continuing through late evening, bringing 1 to 2 inches of accumulation to higher elevations and slick conditions on mountain passes. Roads along Interstate 84 and Highway 395 are becoming wet and slippery, especially in elevated terrain near Meacham, Tollgate, and Ukiah.

Motorists are urged to use caution and allow extra travel time, as blowing snow and low visibility could make driving hazardous. The NWS recommends checking TripCheck or WSDOT for updated road conditions before traveling through the mountains tonight.

Snow is expected to taper off after midnight as temperatures stabilize near freezing, though patchy ice may linger on untreated surfaces.
