Salem, OR – Four people were killed and several others injured Saturday night in a two-vehicle crash on Cordon Road NE in Marion County, authorities said.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just before 8 p.m. on September 20, 2025, near the 2400 block of Cordon Road NE in Salem. Deputies said a northbound Volkswagen Jetta crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Buick Enclave.
Four male passengers in the Jetta, believed to be in their late teens to early 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional Jetta occupants, including the driver and a front passenger, were transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.
Occupants of the Buick, including an adult driver and two children, were also taken to Salem Hospital for medical treatment, deputies confirmed.
The driver of the Jetta, identified as 23-year-old Saul Hernandez-Roblero of Salem, was arrested after receiving medical care. He allegedly faces charges of four counts of first-degree manslaughter, driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving.
Hernandez-Roblero remains in custody at the Marion County Jail and is scheduled for arraignment at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Marion County Court Annex.
The Marion County CRASH Team is investigating. Sheriff’s officials extended condolences to the families impacted and thanked local fire, police, and chaplain services for their assistance.
