Medford, Oregon – Residents across southern Oregon and far northern California are facing a dangerous stretch of triple-digit heat through 8 p.m. Monday, with temperatures soaring as high as 100°F in cities like Roseburg, Klamath Falls, and Mount Shasta.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, a heat advisory remains in effect for Central and Eastern Douglas County, Klamath Basin, Lake County, Siskiyou County, and Modoc County until Monday evening. Overnight lows are expected to stay warm, lingering in the 50s and 60s, which will offer little relief from scorching afternoons.

Hot, dry conditions could impact travel and outdoor events in cities including Roseburg, Lakeview, Alturas, and Dunsmuir. Health officials warn of an increased risk of heat-related illness, especially for those without access to cooling or air conditioning. Local agencies urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during peak heat, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets. Car interiors can reach life-threatening temperatures within minutes—never leave children or pets unattended.

The Umpqua and Klamath Basins, plus foothill towns from Camas Valley to Bly, remain at risk for power strain and possible utility disruptions. Residents are encouraged to use cooling centers if needed and plan for possible school or road impacts if the heat persists into mid-week.

More heat advisories could be issued as this pattern continues. The National Weather Service recommends staying tuned for further updates through Monday night.
