Klamath Falls, OR – A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at Henley High School that left thousands of dollars in losses and missing classroom equipment.

According to the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Friday, Sept. 5, after staff reported a break-in at the school. Surveillance footage allegedly showed two men entering a detached classroom overnight and stealing 20 Google Chromebooks along with a lifelike training doll used in parenting classes. Authorities estimated the loss at about $6,500.

Investigators said coordinated efforts with the Oregon State Police led to the identification of one suspect as 27-year-old Brandon James Brown. Over the weekend, deputies reportedly recovered 18 of the stolen Chromebooks. On Monday, Sept. 8, Brown was allegedly seen wearing the same clothing captured in the surveillance video and was taken into custody.

Brown was booked into the Klamath County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree theft, second-degree criminal trespassing and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office credited teamwork with OSP troopers and deputies for the quick identification of a suspect and the recovery of school property. The investigation into the second individual allegedly involved remains ongoing.
