Pendleton, OR – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued Winter Storm Warnings for parts of Oregon and Washington, with snowfall totals reaching 13 to over 20 inches in some areas. The storm is expected to create hazardous travel conditions beginning Saturday.
According to the NWS, the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon and the Northwest Blue Mountains of Washington, including areas like Meacham, Ski Bluewood Resort, and Tollgate, will see 10 to 13 inches of snow above 4,000 feet. Higher elevations of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest, including Easton and Roslyn, could receive 13 to 20+ inches above 2,500 feet from 10 a.m. Saturday through 10 p.m. Monday.
Travelers are urged to avoid non-essential travel and prepare emergency kits. For safety, report power outages to local utility companies and avoid downed lines.
