Orangeburg, SC – Local law enforcement officers are teaming up once again for a good cause this Monday, November 24, during the “Cops on the Coop” fundraiser at Chick-fil-A on St. Matthews Road.

According to organizers, officers from multiple agencies — including the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) — will take part in the annual event to raise money for Special Olympics South Carolina.

From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., officers will be stationed on the restaurant rooftop and around the parking lot to greet customers, collect donations, and promote the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The event, held at 3559 St. Matthews Rd, is part of a statewide effort to support athletes with intellectual disabilities. Each dollar raised goes directly toward Special Olympics programs and competitions across South Carolina.

Community members are encouraged to stop by, enjoy a meal, and show support for both local officers and the Special Olympics mission of inclusion and achievement.
