Montgomery, NY – Police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run that left a 16-year-old bicyclist seriously injured early Friday morning in Orange County.

According to the Town of Montgomery Police, officers responded to State Route 52 and Bel Air Road around 1:29 a.m. on September 12 after a report of a car versus bicycle crash. When officers arrived, they found the teenage victim on the side of the roadway. Authorities said he had been struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. The driver allegedly fled the scene.

Police believe the crash occurred between 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 1:30 a.m. Thursday. The victim was treated at the scene by Montgomery EMS and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with serious injuries.
