New York, NY – The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Frost Advisory for Orange County, in effect from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. EDT Saturday.

Forecasters warn that temperatures may dip to around 34 degrees, allowing frost to form in sheltered and rural areas across the Hudson Valley. The cold conditions could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants if left unprotected.

Residents are advised to bring potted plants indoors and cover outdoor vegetation before temperatures fall late tonight. Areas most likely to see frost include Warwick, Goshen, and Newburgh, especially in valleys and open spaces where colder air settles overnight.

According to the weather service, frost will dissipate shortly after sunrise Saturday as temperatures climb back into the 40s. The advisory marks one of the first widespread frost events of the season for the lower Hudson Valley.

Gardeners and homeowners should take precautions this evening to prevent cold-related damage to flowers, herbs, and late-season crops.
