Boonville, NY – A Boonville woman is facing charges after authorities say a dispute earlier this week left one individual injured with minor cuts.

According to the Oneida County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the incident allegedly occurred Thursday when a patrol deputy assigned to the Barneveld Field Office was dispatched by the 911 Center to a reported dispute at 120 Church St. in the Village of Boonville. Deputies who responded allegedly confirmed that a confrontation had taken place, during which one individual sustained minor lacerations caused by a sharp object.

Following an investigation, authorities allege that Erica Croniser, 36, of Boonville, was involved in the altercation. She was arrested Sunday and charged with Assault in the 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree. Officials allege the injuries were non-life-threatening.

Croniser was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to return to Boonville Town Court at a later date. Law enforcement did not release additional details about the circumstances leading up to the dispute or the relationship between those involved.

The Oneida County Sheriffโ€™s Office noted that the New York State Police assisted in the investigation and subsequent arrest.

The case remains pending in court, and all charges are allegations until proven in a court of law.
