Oneida County, NY – A Camden man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following what deputies described as a domestic dispute that violated an active protection order.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, deputies were called to a home in the Town of Camden around 1:56 p.m. on January 2, 2026, for a report of a physical altercation. Investigators later determined that an active order of protection was in effect at the time of the incident.

As a result, William J. Novicky, 40, of Camden, was taken into custody and charged with Harassment in the Second Degree (violation) and Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (E felony).

Deputies said Novicky was transported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office for processing and is currently being held at the Oneida County Jail, awaiting centralized arraignment.

The New York State Police and members of the Criminal Investigations Unit assisted in the arrest and investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities did not release further details about injuries or the individuals involved in the dispute.
