St. Charles Township, IL – A driver was killed Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Silver Glen Road and Old Homestead Road, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the crash happened around 8:08 a.m. when a blue 2008 pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Silver Glen Road. According to the sheriff’s office, the truck exited the roadway for unknown reasons, overturned at the curve on Old Homestead Road, and rolled before coming to rest.

Several witnesses told deputies that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. Emergency responders arrived on scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the location. The sheriff’s office confirmed the individual was the sole occupant of the truck.
