FORT WAYNE, IN — The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred early Friday morning during a concert at Piere’s Entertainment Center, located at 5629 St. Joe Road.
According to police, security personnel alerted officers to a disturbance inside the venue at approximately 1:42 a.m. When officers entered, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent knife wound. Due to the size of the crowd, additional units were called in to help secure the scene.
A second adult male was also found with knife-related injuries. Officers administered medical aid until EMS arrived. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The FWPD Homicide Unit, along with Crime Scene Management and the Air Support Unit, are leading the investigation. Detectives are currently reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses.
