Omaha Storm Warning: Severe Weather with Tornado Threat Until 6 PM

Omaha, NE – Severe storms are expected to hit the Omaha area this afternoon, bringing with them the possibility of a tornado. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a warning, indicating that the most intense period of the storm will occur between 3 PM and 6 PM. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.

According to the NWS Omaha/Valley office, the primary hazards include strong winds and large hail. These conditions are capable of causing significant damage to cars, roofs, and other structures. There is also the potential for heavy rainfall leading to localized flash flooding.

Residents are advised to have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and to have a plan in place for seeking shelter, especially if they have outdoor activities planned. The NWS recommends staying indoors and away from windows during the storm.
