Omaha, Nebraska – Mild weather will hold across eastern Nebraska through the weekend, with highs in the upper 60s and 70s making for pleasant outdoor conditions. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms could interrupt the calm pattern Thursday evening, with chances running between 15 and 30 percent.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, additional showers may develop Friday morning before a drier stretch returns for Saturday and Sunday. Skies will remain partly sunny through the weekend, allowing daytime highs to stay seasonable in the low to mid-70s.
Rain chances increase again Monday, when another round of showers and isolated storms could develop. Any rainfall will be scattered, but brief downpours may create slick roads during the morning commute. Drivers are urged to remain alert if storms arrive during peak travel times.
The weather service notes that temperatures will gradually warm as the week progresses, keeping conditions comfortable for early September. More updates will be issued if stronger storm systems develop into next week.
