Omaha, NE. – Residents across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa could be woken by strong storms overnight, with the most intense activity expected between midnight and 4 a.m. Monday. The National Weather Service warns that damaging wind gusts will be the main concern, along with heavy rainfall in spots.

According to the National Weather Service in Omaha, storm chances will persist into Monday night as another round of severe weather may develop along the South Dakota–Nebraska border before pushing south into the region. A complex of storms could move through Lincoln, Omaha, and Council Bluffs overnight Monday, bringing renewed threats of damaging winds.

Daytime conditions will be hot and humid, especially across southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa. Highs in the low 90s combined with high humidity will push heat index values into the 100 to 105 range during the afternoon. Drivers and outdoor workers should take extra precautions to stay cool and hydrated.

In Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding counties, residents are urged to secure loose outdoor items and avoid non-essential late-night travel as storms approach. Spotters are encouraged to report rainfall totals of more than one inch to the Omaha weather office.

Warnings and advisories may be updated through Monday night as conditions evolve.
