Bourbonnais, IL – Money Magazine has introduced a new rating system for American higher education institutions. In this assessment, Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) has been designated a Four-Star Best College, securing a prominent position among Illinois’ educational offerings.
The evaluation process conducted by Money Magazine meticulously scrutinized various metrics, including quality of education, affordability, and student outcomes. Out of a pool of more than 2,400 four-year colleges and universities nationwide, a select group of 736 institutions earned the prestigious “Best College” status, reflecting their performance in these areas.
The criteria for recognition were based on certain benchmarks. Institutions with an undergraduate enrollment of over 500 students and a graduation rate that meets or exceeds the median for their category were highlighted. The concept of a “value-added” graduation rate was also considered significant. This intricate evaluation encompassed 26 indicators, segmented into three primary categories: educational quality, affordability, and post-graduation outcomes.
Olivet Nazarene University’s consistent emergence on esteemed lists such as the US News Best Colleges and Colleges of Distinction is a testament to its ongoing commitment to excellence. The university’s online and master’s programs have also garnered recognition, enhancing its standing further.
Notably, earlier this year, ONU introduced the ZERO TUITION initiative, exclusively applicable to qualifying Illinois students. This pioneering move underscores the university’s dedication to accessible and affordable education. The initiative aligns with ONU’s Affordability Priority, signifying the institution’s determination to broaden access to higher education.
